The decision to rebrand follows the recent announcement by the Minister signalling the need for TAFE colleges to become more competitive and responsive to the needs of industry and the wider community in challenging economic circumstances.
The new brand was officially launched by the Minister at a breakfast function today, at the gold plate award winning Bentley Pines Training Restaurant and Bistro.
I would like to congratulate Polytechnic West on the bold name choice. Once again this institution is willing to take risks and stand apart from the competition. This new identity will reinforce and expand the appeal of training to both domestic and international students, said the Hon. Peter Collier.
The Managing Director of Polytechnic West, Wayne Collyer said it is more that just a name and logo change.
The training market has changed nationally and internationally and it is important that Western Australian training providers keep ahead of these changes and are able to position themselves to compete effectively in the new market place.
With this new brand we will stand out from our competitors and be able to highlight our innovative and industry led training solutions. We are proud to be moving forward and this is an exciting time for training in WA.
Polytechnic West is a name that appeals to our diverse clientele; the logo conveys a meaningful and contemporary image to our students, our staff and our industry stakeholders. It is an image that truly reflects our intention to expand and continue to be innovative.
We will be better positioned to take advantage of developing domestic and international fee for service market opportunities and capitalise on our position as the only publicly funded training provider of applied higher education qualifications in the state, Mr Collyer said.
